DPC and DPM waterproof geomembrane

This is DPC.

This is DPM

They look similar ,but if use wrong one can destroy your building.Let's break the difference down clearly.

DPM means Damp Proof Membrane,it is laid on the ground under the concrete,floor slab,

It's job is to stop moisture from the soil from the entering the floor. without DPM,Floor stay damp ,tiles lift and mold develops.

DPC means Damp Proof Course,It is installed inside walls ,just above ground level.

It's job is to stop moisture  from rising up tile wall .without DPC moisture rises causing damp walls and peeling paint.

Remember this rule,House DPM protects floors,brick DPC protects walls ,DPM blocks ground moisture

DPC blocks rising damp ,mix them up and your building will suffer ,use both correctly and your structure stays dry and strong
